The VDA 19.2, on the other hand, provides guidelines to ensure that contamination is not introduced during assembly phases, focusing on four key macro areas: environment, equipment, logistics and personnel. The correct application of these principles will further improve product quality and reduce the risk of defects due to contamination.

• Assessment of the assembly areas: criteria are established to assess the degree of cleanliness in the areas where assembly processes take place, taking into account both the working environment and operational processes. Standardised methods for measuring potential contamination are defined, using specific systems for the detection of particles and other contaminants.
• Contamination Management: recommendations are provided to create and maintain adequate cleaning conditions through rigorous contamination management, including preventive and corrective actions.
• Staff training: the importance of adequate training for personnel involved is stressed, in order to minimise the risk of accidental contamination.
