In the field of large components, the laboratory has the possibility to make dimensional measurements either in contact geometric mode or in optical or laser mode, using anthropomorphic measuring arms, structured light scanners and laser trackers.

The industrial sectors typically targeted by this service are carpentry (machine frames and structural elements), oil & gas (valves, meters and pipelines) and energy (turbomachinery elements and power transmissions).

It is possible to carry out this type of measurement and dimensional verification when the component has a high weight or a size that does not allow displacement. Unilab offers the possibility of carrying out measurements on site using various high-precision technologies, thus enabling the client company to obtain results quickly.

Verifications can be carried out either by surveying the dimensions on the drawing or by colour map comparison with CAD model.
